SDE/GWIS National Activities
Provide a forum to discuss members' interests, including research, employment
opportunities, and topics of special interest to women in science.
Publish and distribute the SDE/GWIS Bulletin to members.
Support women graduate and undergraduate students in the sciences.
Co-sponsor scientific symposia and other projects with the American Association
for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and other organizations.
Provide recognition for women who have made exceptional contributions in
research or science education.
Distribute annual fellowships in support of research and travel.
Annual National Meeting
This three-day gathering of members from all chapters features keynote speakers,
members' research, career workshops, honorary award presentations, and more. It
is held in different parts of the country for the convenience of our members and
provides excellent opportunities for networking and sustaining friendships in
all parts of the U.S. and abroad.
